  2. You can access a world of knowledge with your library card.
  3. There are books, periodicals, movies, music, databases, computers, inter-library loans, and librarians to help you.
  4. You can use materials in the library or take them home.
  5. There is no charge to borrow materials from the library.
  6. The library cards are free too!
  7. All you need to get a library card is a valid photo ID and proof that you live in Comanche County.

Library Card Sign-up Month

Since 1987, thousands of school and public libraries have joined American Library Association’s drive to sign up new cardholders.  This was in response to  the U.S. Secretary of Education William Bennett’s challenge: “Let’s have a national campaign: every child should obtain a library card—and use it.”

Where else can a child have access to the whole world of knowledge? There are books, periodicals, movies, computers, interlibrary loan, and librarians to help you. All for free! And the card, which allows you to take materials home, is free too. Children four-years-old and over may get a card by having a cardholding parent sign for them.

Library cards are for adults too. All you need is a valid photo ID and proof that you live in Comanche County.

Don't miss out on the best deal around.
